Level 1 & 2 - Roller Girl Gang Workshop - 1 hour - Brixton
Skill Level 1 & 2: Over 18s who can skate forwards and stop on skates.
A special guest workshop with Mel, superstar instructor and the founder of Roller Girl Gang.
Discover roller dance in this fun-packed 60 minute workshop. If you love to roller skate and love to dance, how about combining the two?
Mel's focus is always on helping people to find new ways to move on their skates in a fun and non-judgemental way. The beginner friendly class will introduce you to some entry-level roller dance techniques, taught with Mel's signature empowering and confidence building energy.
Having spent years practising the separate movements used in roller dance, Mel has developed a series of drills designed to support somatic learning (that's muscle memory to you and me). You'll learn these beginner friendly movements, and then combine them into a routine to work on your flow.
To get the most from this session, you should be able to skate forwards and stop. Skating backwards or turning is a bonus! Mel will be breaking down each move so you can learn them at an accessible pace - no prior knowledge of skate dance skating is needed.
⭐️ Social Skate special offer ⭐️
Want to practice your new moves and hang out with Mel after class? There's a Social Skate 7.30pm-9.30pm straight afterwards. Buy a ticket for the social at the same time as your workshop ticket and get both for a special discounted price of £25.
