Level 3 - Learn to Roller Skate - 6 Week Course - Hackney
Skill Level 3: Over 18s who can confidently roller skate forwards, backwards, turn and stop.
Got your own skates? Want to add some skills and tricks to your skate game? Completed our level 2 course and looking for something new to learn?
Join us for a fun-packed 6 consecutive weeks of one-hour classes designed to designed to give you something new to work on. In our Learn to Skate course you'll work towards tricks that use intermediate level techniques. Learning skills like spinning, dipping, dribbling, crazy legs, side surfing, snake walk… As well as fun footwork, dance moves and maybe even some artistic skating moves. All in a safe and inclusive indoor space.
What are some Level 3 skills?
- How to spin on roller skates.
- How to pivot, change direction and transition.
- Footwork jams and routines so you can show off at the roller disco.
- Snake walk, dips, dribbling.
- Intro to Crazy legs.
- Side surfing.
- Floor work to build those core muscles!
You must bring your own quad roller skates, protective wrist guards and knee pads. We are unable to teach you without these for your safety.
Requirements to protect our floors:
- Wheels must not be harder than 99A
- Jam plugs or toe stops are required
If you haven't replaced or removed any parts of your skates they will meet the above requirements.
Helmets and elbow pads are encouraged but not mandatory.
Wear something you're comfortable to move freely in, glitter and disco vibes are always welcome.
Bring a refiallable water bottle, all our venues have water refill stations.
Haggerston overground (7 min walk)
There is free car and cycle parking available at the venue.
The metal carpark gate is behind the school on Labernum Street (to the left of reception if you’re approaching the school from Kingsland Rd). Press the intercom button at the metal carpark gate and you'll be buzzed in. Once you’ve parked up exit back through the gate and walk around to the main reception.
When you arrive at the Bridge Academy head to the main reception on the corner of Labernum St and Haggerston Rd. Reception will sign you in and point you in the right direction.

We cannot offer catch up classes if you miss a session, but we will always do our best to recap on any content that you may have missed.
Unfortunately you can’t join a class if you are, or suspect you are pregnant or postnatal due to the risk of falling.
We may take photographs and videos at our classes. If you would prefer not to be filmed or don’t want us to use your image for promotional purposes just let us know.
